See, this is why LJ Abuse pisses me off
There was this, which
ljablogger mentioned here, prompting a reply from
shamanix here.
Or for those who don't want to click on the links:
shamanix: "As has been said in this community numerous times, the ability to view locked/private entries is limited to LiveJournal's actual employees, and is only used in cases of copyright complaints or violations of United States law."
realcdaae: "Untrue in my case. There was no copyright complaint, and no alleged violation of US law. In fact on the first occassion, my journal was not reported at all - they thought I was [info]yellow_finch, who had been reported for breach of a NONC, and then went into [info]cdaae to have a look."
shamanix doesn't reply there, but replies to
ljablogger bringing it up elsewhere with: "What people report and what actually happen are sometimes two very different things, as I'm sure you're well aware. As you've quoted from my comment to [info]abuse_lj_abuse, I feel I should point out that all abuse cases are confidential and that team members cannot comment on specific cases."
Oh, how convenient, imply that I'm lying but say that since it's all confidential you can't actually say anything specific.
So, I'll have to write to them and find out what violation of the US law they were investigating.
See, I don't give a bugger about the journal itself. Sure, it was initially really annoying, but a journal is a journal is a journal. I back up my entries every month or so, so although they're not online, I still have them. What makes me angry is the continued evasiveness, the contradictions, the outright lies the abuse team tells.
Sorry I keep cluttering up your fpages ranting about this, but as you should know by now, I have an easily outraged sense of justice and blatant abuse of power is one of the things that tends to set it off.
